Vpod Partners with MapsPeople to Enhance Visitor Experience

by | Jan 11, 2021

Today visitor management solutions company, Vpod has announced a new strategic partnership with Indoor navigation provider MapsPeople. The alliance will further develop Vpod’s visitor management system ‘Vgreet’ to also include indoor navigation, taking customer and visitor experiences to new heights.

Vgreet is an innovative touchless reception solution that enables visitors, employees, and other building occupants to enter the building quickly and safely while prioritising a fantastic first impression. Its digital receptionist empowers users to easily check in, book rooms and desks, and get directions to their destination.

“MapsPeople are the professionals in interactive digital mapping both indoors and out. We trust their industry leading knowledge and thirst for pushing the technology and experience boundaries.”

It is the integration of MapsPeople’s indoor navigation platform ‘MapsIndoors’ that enables indoor wayfinding on the Vgreet digital visitor management kiosks. Once visitors have found their destination on the screen, they can send them to their phone by typing in their phone number. They will then receive a text with a link that opens the MapsIndoors web application with the directions already present, thus allowing them to navigate without the need for human interaction.

The Vgreet solution has been an invaluable tool for large venues for years, but the COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the need for touchless solutions. Besides enabling contactless check-in with facial recognition, Vgreet is also able to thermograph visitors to check temperatures upon arrival, thus preventing potential contagion. Furthermore, Vgreet helps venues get an overview of their facilities and make sure they are not allowing too many people in or even controlling the booking of seats and meeting rooms.

“Experience is more important than ever. Vgreet empowers venues to exceed customer and visitor expectations and we are very proud to be part of that. Vpod is an innovative company that wants to define the future of visitor management, just like we want to define the future of mapping and navigation. This makes them a great fit for us and we are very happy that they have chosen MapsIndoors as their mapping and navigation platform. I am excited to see where this partnership takes us.”

– Christian Frederiksen, Head of Strategic Partners at MapsPeople.
